Just thought of a possible serious business application for the twitter concept: keeping the management up to date with project proceedings. What's needed though, is an editor that is well integrated in tooling that is used by the end user anyway. The end user should not be forced to use some separate tool just for communicating proceedings. That's, in my opinion, the concept of the Information Workplace Concept: facilitating the end user with information and applications, adapted to his tasks, context and favorite tools.

Information Workplace - What is it?
When I explain what the Information Workplace concept means, I use the following compact definition:
An Information Workplace offers the user data and applications that are tuned to the user's current task, role, context and his favorite and available tools.
User interface meaning: one or a collection of user interfaces (possibly multiple devices) that support the user in performing his current task.
By context, I mean all influences on the user performing the current task, e.g. location, device, date & time, role, et cetera.
